Emina Ferhatovic

Certified Practising Speech Pathologist

A bit about me:

Emina completed her speech pathology degree at Griffith University on the Gold Coast and joined our team in January 2024 after making the big move to Newcastle. Prior to joining us, Emina worked in a private practice on the sunny Gold Coast.

Emina enjoys working with children of all ages, as well as young adults, to help them achieve their communication goals in fun and creative ways, while also collaborating with their families and support networks. Her practice areas of interest include speech, language, literacy, social communication, fluency, and AAC. She also enjoys working with adults with swallowing difficulties. Emina believes in setting and achieving goals that will make a difference in her clients’ lives and celebrating all the little and big gains along the way.

Emina is committed to ongoing professional development and has completed formal and informal training in early language, complex speech sound disorders, and literacy. She is also trained in orofacial myology and enjoys using these skills and knowledge in combination with traditional speech therapy approaches to achieve the best outcomes for her clients.

Fun Fact:

Emina has set out to learn the Arabic language, which is taking her some time as it’s not an easy one! She also loves singing (although she admits not being very good at it).
