Libby Wallace

Certified Practising Speech Pathologist & Clinical Director

A bit about me:

Libby is one of the vibrant and enthusiastic clinicians at our Charlestown clinic, and is also our Marketing and Communications Director. She loves thinking of ways to make every session creative and fun, and enjoys working with children and their families to help them achieve their speech, language and literacy goals.

Libby is experienced in providing assessment and therapy in the clinic setting, as well as in schools, preschools and community health centres. She has completed postgraduate training in the areas of speech, school-aged language, early language, stuttering, literacy development and intervention, neurodiversity affirming practise, sensory regulation, and Key Word Sign. Libby has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Education Studies, specialising in Special and Inclusive Education, to extend her knowledge and skills in supporting students with additional needs at home and at school.

Libby is eager to learn all that she can so that she can provide her clients and families with the best possible therapy in accordance with evidence-based practice. She is a Hanen Certified Clinician with training in the ‘It Takes Two to Talk’ and 'More Than Words' programs which support language development in early childhood. She is also trained in the use of PROMPT to assist clients with severe speech disorders, the Nuffield program for Childhood Apraxia of Speech, the Lidcombe Program for stuttering therapy, Sounds-Write for literacy development, and PODD for alternative communication. Libby has completed training in the Secret Agent Society program for social communication skills, and she is one of the few clinicians in Australia trained in the PEERS program for teaching social skills to teenagers and young adults. Libby regulatly attends professional development workshops and conferences. In 2023, she attended the Yellow Ladybugs conference, as well as completing the Meaningful Speech workshop for Gestalt Language Processing and a range of workshops focusing on neurodiversity affirming practise.

Libby loves getting to know each of her clients and ensures that each session is tailored individually to meet her clients’ needs. She has a very friendly, caring nature and a positive attitude, and strives to make sure that every client leaves the clinic with a smile on their face!
